BREED BACK PROGRAM

The Moreno Ranches Breed Back Program assists Juniors who buy Brahman heifers from Moreno Ranches in breeding the heifer when she is of age. Moreno Ranches is committed to helping Juniors continue, and build on the knowledge, of Brahman breeding techniques including wise husbandry of registered Brahman show heifers during their show careers.

HOW IT WORKS

When you purchase a Moreno Ranches Brahman heifer, Moreno Ranches commits to assisting in the first breeding of the heifer when she is of age. After you fill out the Suggested Breeding form below, Moreno Ranches will suggest a breeding and release 2 conventional units of semen at no charge. Semen can only be used on that heifer and for AI purposes only.

From there, you’ll be able to call the semen storage facility provided by Moreno Ranches to arrange shipping. Please note, buyers will be responsible for coordinating the semen shipping at the buyer’s expense.

In December of 2013, Moreno Ranches hosted the first Heartland Classic show at the ranch in Venus, Florida, to provide an opportunity for youth to practice and have an outlet other than the annual county fair. The show was quite a success for the first year with a full barn hosting 51 Juniors and 76 head of Brahman Show Heifers and Bulls. Juniors competed in several classes, including Commercial Heifers, Commercial Steers, Commercial Bulls, Brahman Influence Steers and Registered Brahman Heifers and Bulls. The first Heartland Classic was designed as a show for everyone, and still is to this day.

The two-day event hosted showmanship on Friday night including a Pee Wee showmanship class. Eight little ones participated, with help in the ring, and they all won a Pee Wee buckle to show off.
